15 Days Tour From Tangier To Desert , Marrakech

Chefchaouen is a popular tourist destination, is a quaint place to hike, relaxing shop. It offers many native handicrafts that are not available elsewhere in Morocco. Start your tour with the kasbah of Chefchaouen, you can visit the ethnographic museum containing antique weapons, musical instruments, and photographs of the old town. Next, visit the cobbled main square, Plaza Uta el Hamam, rest of time at disposal, dinner & night in guest house.

You will have the morning to relax or take in more sights of Chefchaouen. We will make an an early afternoon departure to Fes.

Guided visit: will be visiting the medieval Medina that was listed as UNESCO World Heritage. You will visit the Bouanania Medersa constructed in the early 14th century, the Karaouine Mosque (The ancient educational centre of Islamic learning), and the Nejjarine Fountain. Continuing on your visit, you will view the blue gate, the medieval tannery, the Royal Palace, then visit of the Souks.

After breakfast we will depart for Merzouga through the Middle Atlas region. We will drive through Ifrane, the ‘Switzerland’ of Morocco and the cedar forests of Azrou where we can stop to hand feed the monkeys. We will continue to Midelt where we will have lunch. We will then follow the Ziz River through the valley and stop to see the Ziz Gorges on our way to Merzouga.

Today we will explore the desert region and the marvel that is the Erg Chebbi desert dunes. We will will make a circuit of the desert dunes where you will have the opportunity to see the the nomad’s way of life and the amazing changing contrasts of the of the desert. We will visit the ‘black village’ of Khamlia to see the Gnawa musicians. We will have a traditional Berber pizza for lunch in the ancient capital of Rissani. In the afternoon we will ride the camels to see the sunset over the dunes and spend the night in the desert camp. We will have a traditional tagine dinner, drink delicious mint tea, listen to traditional berber music while watching the stars and the rising moon in the amazing Sahara desert.

We will wake up early to see the spectacular sunrise over the dunes before making our way back to the hotel for breakfast and a shower. We will cross the palm lined valleys of Tourog and Tinjdad to arrive to Todgha Gorge. We will take a walk in the Todgha Gorge and have lunch in a local restaurant before continuing to our accommodation in the Dades Gorge.

After breakfast we will take a walk in the gorge and then take the off road track to see the nomad caves. We will continue via El Kelaa Magona, Valley of the Roses and the Skoura oasis to arrive early evening in Ouarzazate.

You will have the day at leisure for shopping or sightseeing. You can visit the Taourirt Kasbah and the “Hollywood of Morocco”, the Atlas film studios.

After breakfast we will depart to Ait Benhaddou and visit the World Heritage Site. We will continue with a visit to the traditional High Atlas Berber village of Telouet and the Kasbah el Glaoui. We will have lunch in a local restaurant in Telouet before descending the Tizi n’Tichka to Marrakech.

You will have a guided tour to discover the multiple facets of Marrakech with a stroll in the labyrinth of the narrow streets of the Medina amongst its famous Souks and a visit to the most beautiful palaces and monuments of Marrakech.

After breakfast, departure to Essaouira. Upon arrival, lunch fish. In the afternoon, city tour and alleys of the medina of Essaouira, a former Portuguese fort known for its handicrafts, silver jewelry and inlaid wood of Thuja. Dinner and overnight.

Transfer back to Marrakech.
